On a positioning flight (no passenger, only flight crew) with light windshear reported at 500ft from a traffic that departed ahead of us, we elected to take-off with full power (26,000 lbs of thrust on each engine).
We usually use a reduced power setting on take-off to preserve the engines' life, reduce the noise and fuel burn, and improve the controllability should an engine failure occur during the take-off roll. We rarely perform full power take-offs but a few circumstances mandate the use of the full 26K setting from the engines.
Take-off roll was around 700 meters (2300ft).
